I gathered no rosebuds today
But I do know time has flown.
Each youthful day of springtime
Has blessed the pages bound.
April nights see's that its May.
A month of wind and moonlight.
Soft, serene and distant.
How time flies.
We were sonnets for an hour,
And poems for many years.
Each kiss was a verse of love.
Romance sense has gone.
But we can sit and admire our lives now
While watching fireflies fade through flowers.
By a mended fence beneath the stars.
We'ev come so far. I love you!
