The bill collector
and the taxes
again grabbed me
by the ankles
turned me upside down
and shook vigorously
untill my teeth rattled
and my heart raced
and my head ached
in effort to take
every dime outside food money
and gas money
and smokes for two weeks.
Then they tossed me to the ground.
The only thing they didn't do
was insult me and kick me in the butt.
Maybe next month huh !

Boy do I remember those days. Glad that's over and done with for me.
